   The open-source Linux is technically the most suitable operating system for the deployment of modern digital trunked radio systems(highly suitable for IP-centric systems, wide range of freely available extensions, robust memory protection)

   TetraNode supports both the TetraNode Streaming Protocol and the Internet Protocol(IP). The TetraNode Streaming Protocol (TNSP) has been developed to replace IP for the transmission of voice and data between TetraNode eXchanges (TNXs) and TETRA Base Stations (TBSs) due to certain limitations of IP for mission-critical communications. The principles of IP-networking are adopted in order to generate flexible network designs, which are scalable from single sites right up to deployment on a nation-wide scale.

   The NMS provides access to all levels of the system: managing subscriber fleets and individual units, configuration and operation of high level call services, configuration and operation of network configuration and TETRA devices. Advanced network management tools include NodeWatch Client(NWC), SubscriberWatch Client(SWC) and CoverageWatch Client(CWC).

   The using COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) equipment, based on established industry standards has many benefits: hardware availability from multiple vendors, reduced cost and support availability.

   The Line Dispatch Station (LDS) supports up to 16 monitoring groups, instant replay of communication of selected group and individual calls, possibility to include system monitoring functions in line dispatcher screen layout, multi-language support,etc.

   Distributed databases speeds up operation and reduce customer reliance on a single, centralized database. 


SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGY

   TetraNode applies the latest soft-switch technology together with the most open, reliable Real-Time Linux operating system to produce a TETRA system of which all functionality is implemented through software, providing numerous benefits including increased flexibility, speed and integration of IP. TetraNode has both a TetraNode IP Gateway (TIG) and a TetraNode Packet Data Gateway (TPG), which allow an infinite number of standard and third-party applications to be run over the TetraNode infrastructure. 



  NETWORK ARCHITECTURE  

   TetraNode’s flat network architecture based on nodes challenges the traditional hierarchical way of building networks. Ample opportunities for redundancy and resilience are built into the solution, offering 99.999% availability of resources. TetraNode is based on a minimum amount of standard PC and networking hardware, which makes it simple to install and maintain. Connectivity to other networks and devices is guaranteed through a wide variety of system interfaces.
